The carrion-eating crow became northern Europe's common symbol of the death-goddess. Her Valkyries, sometimes called Crows, cradle heroes as they fly them to Valhalla.
The word crow comes from the Goddess Rea Kronia (Coronis), Mother Time, who brings the gift of the Great Changer to all. The Native Americans call the crows, "little black eagles." They are the law birds, representing the circle of natural law.
