On a green hillside near Uffington, England, there is the 370-foot chalk-cut image of the White Mare. Epona, goddess of the white horse was honored all over Europe. The Mare Goddess was the title applied to the queen of the Amazons, the goddess worshiping tribes that held influence from North Africa to Northern Europe.
