The call of Ra heralded the news of creation. He was the father of the gods and man, and while he ruled a golden age existed in which gods and man could live together happily.
With its soaring flight, the falcon was a natural choice for the Egyptians as the representative of the god of the sky. Each morning Ra, as the sun, rose in the east and set off across the Heavens in his solar barge to set in the west at night.
